Founded in 2010G, the Voice of Down Syndrome Society is an extension of the deep-rooted history of the former Al-Nahda Down Syndrome Schools, which was established in 1987G under the umbrella of the Al-Nahda Philanthropic Society for Women. The Society now embraces the first schools and modern specialized training center which is compatible with the Saudi environment and culture and is distinguished in terms of quality, educational, learning and rehabilitation services from birth to the vocational training ending in employment.


Winning Justifications:

  • The society is characterized for institutional teamwork in all Voice schools. As one of the leading societies in the field of down syndrome for both male and female, the society provides specialized educational, and rehabilitation services for people with Down Syndrome from birth until the age of 21 years.
  • Voice programs are based on a unique educational model for schools in collaboration with internationally accredited female consultants and experts from the University of Washington-Seattle, USA in Down Syndrome programs. During the past 32 years, the society has designed a model program for people with Down Syndrome that is compatible with the Saudi environment and culture and distinguished in terms of quality and scope. Consultants in the early intervention stages, education, communication, physiotherapy and occupational therapy provide ongoing training and follow the latest researches in their field.
  • The educational program adopted at the society’s schools includes many activities, visits and learning trips, which aims at generalizing and integrating all the different skills that have been trained during the academic year. This is in addition to training students on the skills of organized planning of activities and excursions taking into account the abilities and capacities of each student, and the holding of awareness lectures on Down Syndrome inside and outside the society.
  • All evaluation factors of the society indicate its superiority in the field of strategic planning under the supervision of the members of the board of directors. In spite of the short period of its operations, which does not exceed 4 years, the Voice recorded high success in the development of financial resources, launch of diverse programs, projects and investments, while observing rationalization in the preserving of its resources by investing in its surplus resources, such as the Voice endowment, revenues from activities and functions, general donations and Cooperation Partners Program.
  • The society pursues high professionalism by using technology in the media and marketing aspects and following up of all social media channels, which significantly contributed to the achieving of financial sustainability for its projects through its various activities which, inter alia, included the publication of brochures, briefing leaflets and awareness building bulletins as well as the cooperation with the voluntary media team.
