Speech of the Award Secretary General
In the name of God; thanks to God and peace be upon his messenger, prophet Mohammad, his descendants, companions and followers.
The late King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, may God bless his soul, was well known for his piety and keenness to charitable deeds; he was also characterized for his love to his country and its people. In following his path and good deeds, and in honor of the king who loved people and was loved by people, his wife, sons and daughters have decided to establish an award bearing King Khalid’s name, which aims at continuing his reputable path and reflect his approach, may God bless his soul, in taking care of and serving the Saudi community.
The King Khalid award is an award that’s offered to outstanding initiatives and distinct organizations that bring benefit to the country and citizens and contribute to the advancement of the Kingdom’s social and development institutions so as to form another block in the King Khalid Foundation edifice.
The award consists of three branches: Development Partners Award, which is awarded to outstanding national initiatives that have contributed to the development of Saudi community, Non-Profit Organizations Excellence Award, which is awarded to societies and charities that are able to achieve their goals through the best use of available resources and in an effective way, which helps to create a giving- motivating environment that contributes to the facing of community issues and challenges. It also aims at promoting development work through the outstanding performance of non-profit organizations, and the Sustainability Award, which is awarded to private sector organizations that apply best practices in support of sustainable development and commitment to social responsibility.
King Khalid Award makes available all administrative and technical capabilities to achieve the objectives of the award and uses the distinguished scientific competencies of experienced and competent individuals to develop strategies, work plans and evaluation criteria for the award. Specialized scientific committees are assigned the arbitration work of all nominations for the King Khalid Award.
