Second Place: Saudi Women's Creativity Center Initiative
Initiative Description:
The initiative is based on training Saudi girls in the region on carpentry, sewing, upholstery, sewing of curtains, bedspreads and sheets, thereby contributing to the solving of many problems and minimizing of the desperate need for women to work by ensuring sufficient income to them.
This initiative is a social, educational, skill-related and creative initiative that contributes to the following:
- Development of the concept of work so as to get women out of their isolation, in addition to the development of their capabilities through training on professional and manual skills so as to make the woman an effective partner in the development of Saudi community.
- Reduction of unemployment rate among women in all Kingdom cities, elimination of poverty by offering women free training to gain professional skills commensurate with their environment and utilizing women’s leisure time to make gains and benefits for them.
- Highlighting the capacities, talents and creativity of women through their work in different handcrafts.
- Empowerment of low-income women or those who lack a stable income, economically and socially, to manage their life affairs and provide a safe working environment for them to live with dignity and peace in the society.
- Avail more job opportunities for low-income women.
