MEPCO was founded in 2000G. The idea of the company emerged when the project's sponsors realized the market’s need for printing, packaging and industrial paper. Accordingly, the idea was implemented in the same year, and in less than two years, production began with a capacity of 65,000 tons per year. The company was one of the fastest projects in terms of accomplishment, as the implementation period took only 23 months despite the magnitude of the project reflecting the founders' belief in the success of the experiment. Today, the company’s production capacity amounts to 420,000 tons, however, the company continues its endeavors to increase its production capacity according to market requirements and in support of its position in the region. The company occupies the first place in this field at the level of the Middle East and North and East Africa., and exports account for 35% of its production capacity. The company pursues a strong strategy based on its core values, namely, achievement of the best possible return on investment to its shareholders, commitment to deliver high quality products to its customers and contribution to the preservation of the environment. The company believes that market volatility calls for a redevelopment of its working mechanisms.
